Listening to the pathetic sorrowful tales of victims of molestation and victims of rape (what is the difference?) confirms My strong impression that the masses are mainly interested in sex and cannot think of higher things and that everyone is an actor because dating is glorified pr., Methinks, but is considered to be OK by the masses. So why indulge in pretence / pretense? - as the wise practical Chinese philosopher Confucius reportedly said thousands of years ago: "When rape is inevitable, lie down and enjoy the rape," which sounds very insensitive and very callous, but perhaps Confucius did have a point. I have heard that consensual sex can suddenly turn into "rape" for various reasons. This may sound very blunt and hurtful and I have no idea if this is really true. It is so easy to talk critically about someone "making a mountain out of a mole hill", but it is only the wearer who knows where the shoe pinches, not the casual and unconcerned fellow who is looking casually at someone else's pair of shoes from a distance. This is not a joke. Every occasion is not suitable for sarcasm. The truth is that every female has been raped, if not in this life then in past lives. Even m. might be considered an act of unfaithfulness and infidelity by insanely critical guys. We should try to think of higher things, not lower things. (Easier said than done.) SPEAKER'S BLOCK
I have a good collection of books in My personal library from which I could read aloud passages of prose and poetry for My Anchor podcasts but I find that I am overcome by inertia or laziness and find it very difficult to force Myself to make new audio recordings and publish them as new Anchor podcasts if I have taken a break - My last Anchor podcast was on Jan 1 and now on Jan 4 after a break of three days I just cannot force Myself to record any new stuff in My voice. I never have Writer's block - but it is clear to Me that I have Speaker's block. Why is it so? No, I am not using the cheap and pathetic and false romantic device of playing hard to get or following the doubtful advice in the quotation "Absence makes the heart grow fonder." After all, I don't really need to make anyone's "heart" grow fonder of Me. It is better to steer clear of sirens.

I could not quite understand her excited chatter but I could feel her sarcastic tone of voice. (Being a puritan, I felt shocked to hear her frequent use of the expletive f. in her talk but she probably used f. to express her annoyance at f. something.)
I suspect that she is probably getting free copies of books (plus some cash maybe) from publishers to advertise these books, like all other cr. YouTube (female) "book reviewers" (who do not have to read any of the books they "review" online, thank God).
Smart talented ghost writers have used very well-known names like Shakespeare and Dickens and Tolstoy and Homer and Goethe and whatnot to hype their books by fooling naive readers and by making serious students of literature struggle with the "works" of anonymous ghost writers with phony names. Poor silly girl yearning to kiss The Celebrity.
It is possible that the publisher decided to make Alice the supposed author of a novel actually written by a ghost-writer. Alice has to be smart and keep it secret and in return she would be paid a (small) percentage of the money from sales of the novel. This is nowadays very usual for smart publishers worldwide. Being an English lit major student, she can use lit jargon like "genre" to impress her readers and interviewers. (Bluffing is a common trait of modern females. To be fair, jilting is not a new phenomenon in the field of fake romance.) The books she is showing on her video may be novels in the making with empty pages between the covers at present. A uni girl who was bored by her English lit major studies at uni turns out to be the author of three novels! WOW! I am so impressed! Should I laugh or shed (Crocodile) tears? I am reminded of the smart girl in the short story THE OPEN WINDOW by Saki. Bluffing by very smart females is as old as Genesis in the Bible and continues today. Silliness seems to have no limits.

"1 day ago" - such an honest statement gives Me great joy - I don't understand why practically all YouTubers would say "3 years ago", "4 years ago" when it is 1 day ago or 2 days ago. Being A 100% Genuine Guy, I like honesty, which is so rare at present. (She has probably got ALL the 21 books FREE from struggling publishers and authors to all of whom My heartfelt good wishes. I do not call this "dishonesty" on her part. Not at all. She is trying to help the authors and publishers sell their books to a large audience. This is a noble desire which deserves praise.)
"Mystery Date" girl is a primary school teacher who teaches 4-5-year-old kids and she is now advancing to teaching 7-8-year-old kids. (Modern "kids" LOOK LIKE kids but they are অকালপক্ক - too mature for their age - you know what I mean?)
German mathematician Karl Friedrich Gauss (a lifelong bachelor) stressed: "Few, but ripe." A teacher told Me many years ago when I was a school student (even God in human form would have to go through the motions of being a school student, I think): "It is quality that counts, not quantity." Unforgettable words I have never forgotten. And I also remember Mr. S.C. I bought a Nokia C3 4G smartphone today for Rs. 7000. (I bought a Moto - not Motoo - Moto is for Motorola - g8 power lite 4G smartphone about 2-3 months ago for about Rs. 8500 if I remember right, in which I keep 2 of My 6 sims but I needed a new smartphone to keep 2 of My other 4 sims; an old smartphone and an old tablet had gotten dysfunctional through old age; My very innocent-looking wife uses the remaining 2 sims.) I gave Sunny Rs. 8000 cash and told him to buy a LAVA Z66 4G smartphone or a NOKIA 4G smartphone within Rs. 8000 - he could not find the LAVA 4G in any of the three or four shops he visited, and the NOKIA 4G (with 3G RAM) for Rs. 8000 was not in stock, so he bought the NOKIA 3C 4G (with 2G RAM) for Rs. 7000. (I gave him 500 rupees as baksheesh though he did not ask for it.) My cute little LAVA Z 40 4G smartphone which I bought for approx. Rs. 3500 still works fine but I gave it to a poor but studious young Assamese boy to use. When I read the stuff on the box containing the Nokia C3 smartphone, I was very surprised and very pleased to read the words:

The speech Tolstoy lends his characters is something that surpasses perfection. In War and Peace he attains for the first time to a complete mastery of this medium. It gives the reader the impression of actually hearing the different individual voices of the characters. In this art of individualized intonation, Tolstoy has only one rival - Dostoevsky. There is no need to dwell on the individual characters. But it is impossible not to insist on the supreme creation of Natasha, certainly the most wonderfully made character in any novel. Natasha is also the center of the novel, for she is the symbol of "natural man," the ideal.

Tolstoy's philosophy of history was the feature of the novel most persistently objected to, as it is among modern readers. Tolstoy defended the artist's treatment of history as contrasted with that of the historian. The actions and speech of historical persons, he asserted, had been scrupulously reproduced without change. But he stoutly defended his contention that the great events of history in no sense depend on the will of any individual such as Napoleon [Joseph]; rather they are predetermined. History, he explained, is not the slave of kings, but kings are the slaves of history.
In War and Peace, however, Tolstoy was too great an artist to allow his historical hobbyhorse to run away with the novel. Each of the more than five hundred active characters he placed on this vast stage of life has his own [and her own] distinct personality and speaks his own [her own] language. If many of these men and women were suggested by people he knew, and if he drew upon himself for those two central figures, Prince Andrei and Pierre [versions of Peter/Alexander], all were passed through the alembic of his art and transformed into creatures of his imagination. With some justice the radical critics could point out that he did not see the faults of the privileged classes and failed to portray the dark misery of the peasantry of that time, although he ... recognized ... the historical mission of the people.

War and Peace can hardly be called a historical novel in the accepted sense. It is simply a great novel, perhaps the greatest novel ever written. On the whole, War and Peace caused a sensation; it quickly went into a second edition and was extolled in numerous reviews. With the first volume Turgenev showed himself a conscientious objector. "Positively bad, boring, and unsuccessful," he curtly declared. But as the successive volumes appeared, he gradually, and it seems almost unwillingly, surrendered to the charm of War and Peace. Soon he lost all reserve in acclaiming those features of the work "that will not die as long as the Russian language lives." "For in this novel," he concluded in a letter, "there are so many first-class beauties, such life and truth and freshness, that with the appearance of War and Peace Tolstoy has taken first place among all our contemporary writers."

DEAD AND RESURRECTED ADONIS
In the Tammuz myth, the god descends into the underworld after his death... A wailing goddess (variously described as his sister, mother, or wife) manages to rescue him. In the most familiar form of the myth, the rescuer is Ishtar, his wife or love.
The passionate rites for Tammuz were exceedingly attractive to women in particular. They found emotional relief in the wailing and utter grief that symbolized Tammuz' death and in the almost orgiastic joy that came when the priests raised the cry that he was reborn.
The stern prophets of Israel had a hard job keeping the Israelite women from joining in this pagan rite. Ezekiel, at the time of the Judean exile in Babylon, enumerated the sins of the Jews of the time and said that in the very Temple in Jerusalem "there sat women weeping for Tammuz" (Ezekiel 8:14).
The rites of a dead-and-resurrected God occur in the Greek myths too. The Semitic term for "Lord" is "Adonai" and it was "Adonai," rather than "Tammuz," that was adopted by the Greeks. They added the final s, which is an almost invariable ending on Greek proper names, making it "Adonis."
Since Ishtar was the lover of Tammuz in the Babylonian myth, the equivalent of Ishtar would have to be the lover of Adonis in the Greek myth. The Greek equivalent of Ishtar was Aphrodite, the goddess of love and beauty.
Adonis' mother was Myrrha, who had conceived an incestuous passion for her father and managed to sneak into his bed, with the result that she became pregnant by him. When the shocked father discovered the truth, he would have killed her, but the pitying gods changed her into the myrrh tree.
In the Greek myth, the myrrh tree into which Myrrha had been changed split after nine months, and the infant Adonis emerged. Aphrodite (who had inspired Myrrha's fatal love in the first place) felt remorse at the event and rescued Adonis. She placed him in a box and gave him to Persephone, goddess of the underworld, for temporary safekeeping. Persephone, noting the beauty of the child, refused to give him back and there was a quarrel that ended with each having him part of the time.
Here again is the tale of winter (Adonis with Persephone) and summer (Adonis with Aphrodite), enlivened, in the Greek way, by a story of forbidden love.

Many years ago, I opened Facebook and (I think also) Twitter accounts, but only a limited total number of English letters of the alphabet (about 140 letters) per post was allowed, and also, I started getting emails asking Me if I would like to be a Facebook friend of a Class 11 girl, of a Class 12 girl, but because My intention was literary and not to keep having new girlfriends (I never had a single girlfriend during My school, college, and university days in India nor during My research and study days in the U.S. universities UIUC and UIC), so I stopped using Facebook (and also Twitter it's limited allowance of typing space). Then I had a sudden flash of inspiration - I started sending gmails from kishalay.sinha007@gmail.com) to ksinha1950@gmail.com and made My two passwords public (yzpeternorman and infinity, respectively) and I posted lots of online pieces in this manner. An interesting presentation with photos and an interview with an Indian publisher; the text is read by Ms. Sakshi Mandwal*. I wonder if the text is from a CBSE school textbook for Indian students; if so, why is the Class not mentioned? (* Is Mandwal the same as মণ্ডল?)
I am glad to learn from this presentation that: "India ranks third after the US and UK in English language publications." and that "India produces almost 90,000 titles every year in over 20 languages." WOW!
I think India may soon OVERTAKE the US and UK in the number of books in English sold every year. It is possible that India is number one in the total number of books sold every year if we consider all types of books sold including textbooks and study guides for all levels of students.
Books of fiction and nonfiction will sell a lot if books are interesting and very easy to read and inexpensive (paperbacks).
I have a collection of about 3000 books in My personal library thanks to the fact that I live in India. Banaras - Vanaras
Banaras বানরs বানৰs Vanaras वानरs you see may be Nazis disguised as monkeys. (Cf. "বিজ্ঞান ও দেবদেবী" by নিগূঢ়ানন্দ, a very interesting and entertaining book on "Hindu" gods and goddesses written in Bengali. There is no mention of Nazis anywhere in this scholarly book full of interesting information presented in a very readable manner. I have just looked up Google search engine and I am very glad to notice that this book is available from Amazon and Flipkart etc. There is indeed a short reference to word origin or etymology of Banaras and Vanaras in the book connecting the names to "banar" or "vanar", which means monkey in some Indian languages. I find this derivation very interesting, just as I find derivations of ভগবান and God very interesting; God is derived from "good" according to this scholarly and interesting book. ভগবান ভগৱান भगवान is etymologically derived from ভগ भग vag and means the owner of many vag. यानि v. I have been thinking of recording some interesting excerpts from My copy of the book and publishing them as some Anchor podcast episodes but I have been overcome by Speaker's block since Jan 1, 2021 although I never have Writer's block. God knows if the ACTUAL reason for My frustrating Speaker's block is to let My poem LOVE have tremendous impact worldwide. - G)

WORDS AND IDEAS
I saw many copies of WORDS AND IDEAS in a bookstore on the UIUC campus many years ago; I feel sure that the author of this fascinating book was DELIBERATELY given misleading information by f. Nazis about "book theft" to lower the author's image in My mind just as Nazis are now trying to demean FBI by bringing into limelight some Nazi moles in FBI. Nazis also gave misleading information to the Indian novelist Ms. Savi Sharma or to her ghost writer about heinous "rape" and "murder" NEVER committed by God in human form. F. Nazi cheats are ZERO to God.
Google sources mention "WORDS AND IDEAS" by William J. Dominik. "WORDS AND IDEAS" I saw and read many years ago was written by Hans P. Guth (of San Jose College, California, if I remember right) - or was it written by some ghost writer, like many books written by ghost writers? (I have seen an exactly identical copy of INSTANT VOCABULARY by Ida Ehrlich, originally published in America, published in blessed India as INSTANT VOCABULARY by "Amitav Sengupta, University of California", obviously to attract Indian students by using as the author's name an Indian professor with Bengali surname "Sengupta", teaching English (WOW!!) at a U.S. university in California, since Bengalis are supposed to be serious students (at least Bengali guardians are very serious, perhaps too serious!), and Hollywood is in California, hence University of California! I should also mention that author Ida Ehrlich says in INSTANT VOCABULARY that she is a school teacher in New York but the name of the school is not mentioned. A case of THE SAME AUTHOR in TWO "avatars"?!!
Of course, I have both copies of INSTANT VOCABULARY. It is a wonderful book. A magical book. I thank both publishers. I am so lucky I bought a copy of INSTANT VOCABULARY (Pocket Books, New York) when I was a college student many years ago. I bought it then from Mr. J.D. Tanna, Pocket Books Distributing Company (now TIMELY BOOKS CENTRE), Chittaranjan Avenue, Calcutta (now Kolkata); his son, whom I met at a book fair in Guwahati a few years ago, now runs TIMELY BOOKS CENTRE. (I cannot find TIMELY BOOKS CENTRE on Google search. Perhaps the name has been changed by Mr. Tanna.)
I learn from Google search that INSTANT VOCABULARY can be had from Amazon, Flipkart, Barnes & Noble etc.
A reprint of INSTANT VOCABULARY is available in India published/distributed by M.B.D. PUBLISHERS DISTRIBUTORS, 229, BHOLA NATH NAGAR, SHAHDARA, DELHI-110032; its price was Rs. 125 a few years ago.

GRE (Graduate Record Examination) and TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) must be taken by all foreign students to gain admission to graduate studies (Ph.D. etc.) in American universities. I got high marks on My GRE and TOEFL exams and gained admission to Ph.D. at UIUC (the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, USA) and to M.S. at UIC (University of Illinois at Chicago, USA) with university scholarships from both UIUC and UIC. My grateful thanks to the top U.S. universities UIUC and UIC. (I scored 98 percentile and 99 percentile on two TOEFL exams.)
The best book for learning new English words is the bestseller "WORD POWER MADE EASY" by Norman Lewis, "Number One teacher of vocabulary building in the United States", reprinted in India by Goyal Publishers & Distributors, 86 UB Jawahar Nagar, Kamla Nagar, Delhi - 110007. Very low price. I have all books by Professor Norman Lewis and Dr. Wilfred Funk (an equally fascinating teacher of vocabulary building), which are all sold in low-priced paperback editions by Goyal Publishers & Distributors.

Tolstoy said that to "love" someone of the opposite sex ACTUALLY MEANS to want to have sex. I have seen two or three YouTube videos of "psychologist" Vanessa BUT frankly I have never been impressed by any of the VERY DOUBTFUL conclusions reached by "psychologist" Vanessa and her team of "researchers" after their "experiments". I am drawn to YouTube videos mainly by YouTube algorithm and the video titles and by females. (May God save YouTube computer algorithm from angry curses! Forgive Me, male guys, for being unkind to guys of My gender! But for God's sake allow Me to be kind to the "weaker" sex. "Weaker?!! What sayest Thou?!

HEARING MY OWN VOICE
As time goes by, I find more and more that I only like to hear My own voice and not to see and hear others including My consort, at home or on radio and TV and YouTube because for whatever reasons everyone else seems very false and not completely genuine unlike Me. I should keep on recording passages of prose and poems to publish them online as Anchor podcast episodes mainly to hear My own voice but recording My elocution is such a hassle I keep on thinking nowadays of taking up reading My many books again after a long hiatus (!). By God, everyone else seems to have an ulterior (!) motive, unlike Me. Please don't mind. I'm sorry if anyone feels hurt by My seemingly blunt talk. I didn't mean to hurt anyone but only to express what I truly and genuinely feel nowadays. But I don't want any sympathy and empathy. Perhaps others deserve My sympathy and empathy. Am I sarcastic? I don't think so. I am merely expressing My thoughts in a "stream-of-consciousness" style.
