BARC suspends weekly publishing of ratings for news channels amid ‘fake TRP’ row

New Delhi: Television ratings agency BARC (Broadcast Audience Research Council) has decided to suspend publishing of weekly individual ratings for channels in the news genre.

The decision comes a week after the Mumbai Police claimed that Republic TV and two other channels have been manipulating television rating points (TRP) data.

Weekly individual ratings for news channels suspended

In a statement released Thursday [on October 15, 2020], the BARC said the decision has been taken in the light of the recent developments.

“This exercise would cover all Hindi, Regional, English News and Business News channels with immediate effect,” it stated.

Over the years, several private entities have lodged police complaints over fraudulent TRP data.

It is clear from the above news I have copy-pasted for the benefit of Indians that BARC went out of operation three days ago! - on October 15, 2020! Any subsequent communication from any guy claiming to represent now defunct "BARC" will be INVALID - an email sent on October 17 is therefore INVALID as evidence.

PRESS CONFERENCES 

NCB senior officers kept on leaking information to the media and kept on holding press conferences in Mumbai in recent days (in connection with the FAKE "death" of SSR and false heinous accusation that "Rhea" "MURDERED" SSR who had IN FACT escaped from his Mumbai flat in June 2020) - and no one objected. Why then this hullabaloo about Mumbai Police Commissioner's press conferences?
