NOTES:

hombre = "an informal term for a youth or man"

I suspect that "INFINITE JEST" = God's online posts.

3 BOOK REVIEWS (YouTube)

1. Joan Mackenzie reviews The Collected Works of A.J. Fikry by Gabrielle Zevin (1:23)/ JoansBookReviews (YouTube)

There is no photo of the author on the cover of "The Collected Works of A.J. Fikry" by Gabrielle Zevin, published by Little, Brown, so I don't know what she looks like. The publisher Little, Brown should know. (Gabrielle Zevin could be a pen name, or the novel/memoir may be a ghost-written work of fiction. No one is sure about Who wrote INFINITE JEST.)

I think I heard the "bookswithdylan" reviewer guy (no. 3 above) say that THE STORIED LIFE OF A. J. FIKRY by Gabrielle Zevin may be another name of the novel THE COLLECTED WORKS OF A.J. FIKRY by Gabrielle Zevin. But from interviews with Gabrielle Zevin on YouTube I learn that THE STORIED LIFE OF A.J. FIKRY by Gabrielle Zevin is not a Little, Brown publication but has been published by another rival or friendly American publisher. (May ALL authors and all publishers and all book stores prosper.) By the way, how many Gabrielle Zevin are there in the world?

I purchased the American edition of INSTANT VOCABULARY by Ida Ehrlich many years ago when I was a college student but a few years ago I bought an exact Indian reprint of INSTANT VOCABULARY by "Amitav Sengupta, University of California" (the changes obviously made to tap the large Indian market). COLLECTED WORKS sounds like a scientific textbook, which may be the reason for changing the title to THE STORIED LIFE, which is a smart move. I am not saying plagiarized.

Remembering David Foster Wallace

Everything And More: A Tribute To David Foster Wallace (36:00)/Electric Cereal (YouTube)

A heartfelt melancholic discussion on "late" (imaginary nonexistent?) "David Foster Wallace", the supposed author of inspiring "INFINITE JEST", the "thick book" mentioned in "THE COLLECTED WORKS OF A. J. FIKRY" by Gabrielle Zevin, who herself does not state Who wrote INFINITE JEST (which, I think, is actually God's collected online posts). One tragic-sounding participant in the melancholic discussion - Michael - is seen wiping sad tears. All three males and the female Joanna participating in praising the great "late" "writer" "David Foster Wallace" seem to be engaged in impromptu story-telling a la the highly imaginative young girl in the amusing short story "THE OPEN WINDOW" by Saki. The four participants have given their group a funny name: "ELECTRIC CEREAL". (What is that supposed to mean?)

WIN WIN SITUATION

"THE STORIED LIFE OF A.J. FIKRY" by Gabrielle Zevin (I don't know the name of the American publisher) is identical with "THE COLLECTED WORKS OF A.J. FIKRY" by Gabrielle Zevin, published by Little, Brown, except that the title has been changed, perhaps for legal and/or commercial reasons. My copy of "THE COLLECTED WORKS OF A.J. FIKRY" by Gabrielle Zevin, published by Little, Brown, doesn't have a photo of the author Gabrielle Zevin. If there is only one Ms. Gabrielle Zevin in the world, there is no problem. But if there are more than one Ms. Gabrielle Zevin in the world, I find it rather FISHY. But anyway I learn from her interviews on YouTube that Ms. Gabrielle Zevin was a graduate (undergraduate?) student of English literature at Harvard (I am impressed) where she attended the lectures of a Professor Margaret et al but Gabrielle asserts that she had no particular mentor.

I find it rather amusing that YouTube book reviewers and in particular the female book reviewers say NOTHING about Leon Friedman, self-proclaimed "Novelist extraordinaire", Who is the funniest character in the novel, like gals who DON'T WANT to tell others about A Special Someone but want to keep it a secret. I find it intriguing that Leon means Lion - and My surname "Sinha" aka Singha aka Singh ALSO means Lion. (The meaning of symbol G after My name is too well-known to need an explanation by Me.)

If there are OTHER females named Gabrielle Zevin, or some females DECIDE (for monetary reasons or to gain fame) to change their names to Gabrielle Zevin, or use it as their "PEN NAME", we could have LOTS of novels IDENTICAL WITH "THE COLLECTED WORKS OF A.J. FIKRY" by Gabrielle Zevin but under DIFFERENT TITLES by "Gabrielle Zevin" published by lots of DIFFERENT smart publishers (perhaps paying a percentage to Little, Brown). That would be a WIN WIN situation for publishers, authors, booksellers, and readers.
