Joseph Stalin (Z) and Hitler (Y)
Words, when well chosen, have so great a force in them that a description often gives us more lively ideas than the sight of things themselves.
- JOSEPH Addison
Said Napoleon, "We govern men with words."
And even the prophet Job said, "How forcible are right words!"
No wonder when a Hitler takes over, his first act is to commandeer words - the press, the radio, and books [and TV]. He knows that if he doesn't destroy freedom of speech, freedom of speech will destroy him.
Bobby is a bad boy?
If, perhaps, you say "Bobby is a bad boy?", you haven't told us a thing about Bobby. [I was given the nickname Bobby when I was a young boy.] You have merely given us a tip on your personal code of ethics and morals.
Unthinkable to The Oriental
A word can lose a friend. Or even cause a war.
The Japanese term mokusatsu is believed to have brought on the tragedy of Hiroshima and all that followed.
Mokusatsu has, to the Japanese, two meanings, "to ignore" and "to refrain from comment."
Apparently the emperor and the cabinet were ready to surrender to the ultimatum of the Allies but they wanted a little more time to talk over the terms, and so they prepared a press release announcing a policy of mokusatsu, with the "no comment" implication.
The foreign press, however, through a slip in the translation gave the "ignore" meaning to the word. That is, they made the Japanese say "We ignore the command to surrender" instead of "We refrain from comment at the moment."
To yield under these circumstances would have resulted in an incredible loss of face - an unthinkable tragedy to the Oriental - and so, according to our authority, all hopes for a truce were lost. [I crushed the Nazis. - G]

I first bought a copy of the book (from a second-hand used book shop) in Bombay many years ago during My tremendous fight with Nazis whom I crushed. This book gave Me terrific support.

At Matunga Police Station (P.S.) many years ago:
G: I think I have offended Dr. Gos.'s daughter.
P.S.: Why, what have You done? Fucked her?
G: No.
P.S.: Then? Listen. You are an educated man. India is an independent country. Fight back!
G: Thank you.

Semantics
Semantics: science of the extra meaning of words, how words are used to cheat, for deception.
Semantics is one of the most important, if not the most important, of all sciences.
- Norman Lewis: WORD POWER MADE EASY
In other words, always be alert to the deceptive use of words (lies by Nazis). I always remain alert.
