TRILOGY

I suspect that nowadays it is not unusual that a trilogy (a set of three novels by an author) need not be published serially but the second novel may be published first, say, and if it sells, the first or third novel may be published next, the remaining novel (the third - or the first - novel) can be published last, all the while the enterprising team of publishers, authors, reviewers, booktubers praising the "trilogy" (in the making), right from the start of the brilliant joint advertising campaign for the "trilogy". My best wishes to all incipient trilogies.

(A very interesting and deeply moving trilogy I enjoyed reading is the trilogy CHILDHOOD, MY APPRENTICESHIP, and MY UNIVERSITIES by Maxim Gorky, translated from the Russian into English by Margaret Wettlin. I also bought the Bengali and Assamese translations of the trilogy, but sadly, an alcoholic brother-in-law of Mine borrowed the Assamese translation of the trilogy but he never returned the three volumes to Me - I suspect that he sold the books to buy alcohol like good-for-nothing worthless drug addicts.)
