their mind turns to God

their mind turns to God

every time there is an epidemic, there is a lot of media attention,  statements by bureaucrats and politicians explaining the stop gap [temporary] arrangement they have made. This creates the effect that a devil [a devilish combination of FAKE "doctors", "pathologists", staff of "diagnostic laboratories"] is around and anyone might be the next victim. The fear is all too obvious once the [fake] diagnosis of Dengue is declared, the one who was feeling sick in his body now feels sick in his mind; anxious, fearful, nauseated, filled with a sense of impending doom. And as a doctor I need to participate in their gloom. My sense of humour just doesn't help, because the scene is too tense for it, I might be rendered [considered] insensitive and careless if I ever did so!

One of the best ways to avoid this situation is to skip the [fake] test for [nonexistent] Dengue.

My first few patients went off well. My standard explanation to them was, "You are very lucky that your Dengue hasn't become complicated and if God is by your side (it's always good to form this team; you, patient and God), you will make an uneventful [normal, usual] recovery. All you have to do is taking adequate rest, good food and avoid unnecessary medicines." And they actually start feeling lucky. God has been so kind to them that their dreaded affliction is blissfully without any significant harm. And the moment they feel a little bad, their mind turns to God rather than their doctor.
