I was appointed Mathematics Instructor at I.T.I. Haflong under 3F (temporary). After four or five years of teaching at I.T.I., Haflong, I appeared before the APSC board in Guwahati (APSC office was then at Bhangagarh in Guwahati) for regularisation interview together with the mathematics instructors of all the other I.T.I.s of Assam (I have forgotten the total number of I.T.I. instructors - more than 20 - all had been appointed three or four years before, like Me) ... BUT many young new male and female candidates for the SAME I.T.I. MATHEMATICS INSTRUCTOR POSTS were ALSO called for interview by APSC.

When the result was announced by APSC, I WAS PLACED FIRST BUT ALL THE OTHER EXISTING I.T.I. mathematics instructors had FAILED and all the other posts were given to successful new young males and females!

Poor guys who had suddenly lost their jobs - most had got married - WENT TO GAUHATI HIGH COURT and got back their jobs!
