Philip drew a large miniature-case from his pocket and opened it. Maggie saw her old self leaning at a table, with her black locks hanging down behind her ears, looking into space with strange, dreamy eyes. It was a water-color sketch of real merit as a portrait.

"O dear!" said Maggie, smiling, "what a queer little girl I was! I remember myself with my hair that way, in that  pink frock. I really WAS like a gypsy. I daresay I am now," she added, after a pause. "Am I like what you expected me to be?"

The words might have been those of a coquette [or pr.], but the full, bright glance Maggie turned on Philip was not that of a coquette [pr.]. She really did hope he liked her face as it was now. Philip met her eyes and looked at her in silence for a long moment before he said, quietly, "No, Maggie."

The light died out a little from Maggie's face, and there was a slight trembling of the lip. Her eyelids fell lower, but she did not turn away her head, and Philip continued to look at her. Then he said, slowly - "You are very much more beautiful than I thought you would be."

[A dramatic twist at the end... Philip may be very impressed but I have the impression that Maggie is a top pr. and a treacherous honeytrap and spy and assassin who is nothing exceptional but just one of millions or billions like her. I think she has an excessively exaggerated opinion of herself. All her entire past has been  carefully recorded, like all others'. I suspect that God angrily banished her (and many others like her) from heaven billions of years ago for their shocking treachery. - G

I wonder if "old classics" such as THE MILL ON THE FLOSS and TO SIR, WITH LOVE are actually newly written novels written by the author and published by the publisher after receiving My order or artfully placed in local bookstores so as to catch My attention, knowing that I am a Bibliomaniac. - G

EVANGELINE

My eighth-grade class had an excellent reader full of literary gems, one of which was Henry Wadsworth Longfellow's Evangeline [Eve angel].

I read the poem aloud. Each day, as the poem unfolded, the enjoyment of the reading increased. I shall never forget the emotion of this class when I read the end of Evangeline [Eve angel; cf. PF/Hitler's lover Eva Braun].

[I learned something new from this video. So far, I had read and heard that Lucifer (most beloved angel of God) and one-third of the angels in heaven were beaten and driven out of heaven by Michael and two-thirds of the angels, but I learned for the first time, from this YouTube video uploaded by Rachel Stephens (in this video, N is missing from the name Rachel N. Stephens she sometimes uses), that Lucifer (aka Satan in the Bible - King James version etc.) and his gang again fought Michael and his gang a second time and THIS TIME Lucifer beat Michael! Certainly very interesting brand-new info., God knows where she got the info. from. - G]

I wonder if Lucifer/Light = Krishna / Janardan [slayer of John (aka NL?)/Indra?]

Interestingly, the name of My late "dad" was Krishna, a very puritanical and very faithful husband who was strictly monogamous unlike highly romantic Lord Krishna of mythology, said to have been the husband of 16,108 wives/queens rescued from captivity. (Modern prostitutes in porn videos are also called porn  queens.)
