I have about 15 or more excellent translations of the Bible, most in English, plus some in Bengali, Hindi and Assamese (these are 3 of the top languages of India). Originally, My AIM was to study these translations as excellent models of good prose in the four languages.

I have excellent translations of the Gita and of Shrimad Bhagavad in English and in Indian languages (Bengali and Assamese), which does NOT mean that I want to become a "sadhu". (I am G.)

I also have an excellent English translation of the Koran (which includes vivid descriptions of Hell), which also has the Arabic text side by side but I haven't learned Arabic yet. I want to learn it plus other Indian languages and foreign languages too and for this purpose I have bought several excellent language-learning books and CDs but YouTube takes up A LOT of My time these days because smartphones and Internet have become very cheap and affordable in India, thank God. - G
