SWEET GIRL CLASSMATES

When I was a young B.Sc. Physics Honours student at St. Stephen's College (which was luckily for Me not coed then), we had our physics honours classes at Delhi University along with many boy classmates and four or five sweet s. girl classmates (I don't remember the exact number; I never spoke with the girls) of Hindu College which was a coed college then as now. We also had our chemistry subsidiary classes at Delhi University with many boy classmates and five or six sweet s. girl classmates (once again, I don't remember the exact number; I never spoke with any of the girls) of a coed college (Ramjas College? Hans Raj College? Kirori Mal College? I am sorry I don't remember the name of the college). We also shared our Delhi University History of Science classes (physical and biological sciences) with students of another college (I have forgotten the name of that college and if there were ANY girls; there MUST have been, I guess, but I don't remember, being A Brilliant Scholar Who was not interested in girls). One thing I have never forgotten and which has continued to inspire Me is the fact that when our kind physics hons. lecturer Mr. Chandra, who taught us electricity and magnetism, told the class to elect the class librarian - My name was proposed by one of My college classmates and seconded while another college classmate's name was proposed as My rival and seconded - Chandra sir then told the class to raise their hands to support either Me or My rival - I won by a huge margin but what made Me feel very happy was that I saw ALL of the four or five sweet Hindu College girls raising their sweet hands to support Me! (As was My habit, I never spoke to the sweet girl classmates even after their sweet support). A young Punjabi boy, Upinder Singh Arora, who lived in Old Delhi, who was a Hindu College physics honours classmate of Mine at Delhi University, informed Me on inquiry that one of the four or five physics honours Hindu College girl students who were My classmates (with none of whom I ever spoke) was the daughter of the head of the department of English at Hindu College.

(I did not take the trouble to verify this interesting piece of information.)
