What is tortious? I have heard of tortuous - but tortious? (Ref. s. Reham Khan – ex-wife of Mr. Imran Khan, Pakistani cricketer turned politician – interviewed by anchor Anand Narasimhan of TIMES NOW on the recent release of her – slanderous? – book which, I gather from the interview, is mainly about her ex-husband Imran Khan.) The tort in tortious and in torture et cetera makes Me suspect that tortious could be a legal term connected with torture of a wife or of a husband showing in either case a contorted face in pain or in disgust.
